unless you’re planning on starting and completing a socialist revolution by november 6th there is absolutely no reason to abstain from voting. it is not a blood pact. you are not beholden to democrats when you vote for them over abstaining. there IS a lesser of two evils and it’s not inaction. every republican voted in kavanaugh and only one democrat did. statistically we are literally safer with democrats in office.

and no, i’m not planning on relinquishing communist ideals in deference to dems. i just don’t think as black and white as “anything short of a communist revolution is useless.” roe v wade is in jeopardy and women WILL die if it gets overturned. leftists sitting on their asses are about as useful as the thoughts and prayers of school shootings

Wait. Venom and Eddie have a baby?!?!?? I need to know more.

There’s been a few people here and there in the tags trying to start ship discourse but…

Yall seem to forget that eddie/venom are canon in the comics… this is pretty much basic level Venom lore

Venom declares their love for Eddie:

Eddie talks to someone about being in a relationship with Venom and how much he loves it:

They consider each other married:

They’ve considered each other marred since the 1990 comics:

Yet another discussion on their romantic relationship:

Eddie considers Venom his long time romantic partner:

They go on movie dates with each other and hold hands!!!:

…This scene:

Um…. anyways, heart chocolates:

They call each other pet names CONSTANTLY:

The ending to one of the comics has a heart symbol and the classic ‘fairy tale’ ending:

image

Speaking of the heart ending, they consider their entire story in the comics to be a love story

I just… do I need to explain further?

They’ve also canonically given birth to a symbiote child before and raised it together until it went off on its own. Yep. They had a child together.

Anyways…. symbrock is canon. And it has been since 1990 when they first considered themselves married and in a relationship.

@brichibi

So after I saw the movie and talked with a friend she basically said all of this, was even like, “They toned it down in the movie it is aaaaall over the comics.”

And just… wow I love this ❤️❤️❤️

Can I just say, as great as Venom and Eddie’s relationship was, I appreciated Dan and Anne’s. Dan didn’t fall into the jealous new boyfriend category. Not once did he mistrust Anne about Eddie, showing he was totally comfortable in that relationship and trusted her totally, he was so nice to Eddie instead of telling him to stay away from Anne. It was a healthy relationship dynamic (despite Anne’s possible remaining feelings at the end) and I appreciated it and Dan as a character

Update: I forgot to add, Dan had his priorities right like when he told Anne they needed to talk about what was going on and she said there was nothing going on with her and Eddie and Dan was like ‘no we need to talk about the weird parasite thing that’s unknown to medical science obviously’ and I appreciate that he was focused on the right thing

I think part of what made the Venom movie so palatable to me was the whole situation with Dan and how it was handled as if everyone involved was a Decent Adult Person instead of the heteronormative caricatures we’ve come to expect. Just by being written the way he is, Dan makes my queer ass feel so much safer in indulging in this fandom, and I love him for that!!!

I was prepared for a boatload of second hand embarrassment at the restaurant scene but it was wonderfully resolved when Dan was like “Yes this is my girlfriend’s ex behaving inappropriately in a restaurant but also he’s obviously visibly unwell and I’m a doctor so can we all please calm the fuck down so I can get him to a hospital.”

I think the nicest part for me is that usually in movies with The Love Interest’s New Boyfriend, he’s either secretly evil or he completely lacks a personality and impact on the plot. But Dan is involved in the story! Him being a doctor isn’t just to make him seem better than Eddie – he has skills that are important to discovering and stopping the symbiotes. And at no point does he try to posture at or show up Eddie; he’s more chill with Eddie than Annie is when they first meet.

anyway i’m highkey here for Dan/Annie/Eddie(/Venom) because sometimes a family is two chill adults, a walking disaster, and an alien

P*pper in the suit irks me. She never liked the suits. She left tony because of the suits. Like … she’s always been against tony having them (which is Like, 100% understandable btw not bashing that at All!) So why. Why is she being put in one now. In terms of mcu I don’t get it.

This is one of those things that I can kinda see per the goings on of mcu, assuming that they remember to show her reluctance to suit up. If they write it like Tony made a suit that finds her when triggered or something and since half the planet disappeared she begrudgingly sees that as reason enough to suit up? I would be okay with that. If they write it like being on-call to suit up is something she accepted years ago and is totes cool with? Screw that.

And as always I’m irritated by some of the notes that are like “because if you read the comics you would know–”… know what boo? That the mcu didn’t write all the same stories, plot development, or *character* development as the comics? Making it so I can’t give them a storytelling pass in the mcu for just plugging in some random comic bit without making it make sense in their universe?
