I think the fact that two men on Queer Eye have started dating women who were already in their lives should clue men into the fact that there could be women in their lives that care for them deeply and even romantically, and would date them, if they knew that dating wouldn’t include being their fucking mother and teaching them the basics of taking care of themselves as a grown ass adult.
For a second I thought you meant two of the main guys and I got immensely confused
Questions for those who exercise:
Why does muscle in front of my shin hurt so bad on lap 3.5 & 4 of my walk? The tibialis anterior (yay google).
I only walk 2 miles (since I just started like 6 days ago), which is 8 laps at my local track. It takes me 35 minutes so it’s not particularly fast. 🤔 After I get passed lap 4, it’s smooth sailing and I enjoy the second mile and the cool down. Am I not warming up enough? Not stretching enough? Or is this something that will pass as I keep up these daily walks?
I think it’s time for me to log off tumblr for the night.
I keep seeing stuff that I want to argue with because it makes me feel like I’m negatively ‘unusual’ for a woman (if those posts are anything to go by).
I’m a woman who fucking loves boobs! You know that abundance of big boob porn? I can live off it. But all the “wlw don’t *care* about boobs” stuff I keep seeing (not just on tumblr), has me sitting here like ‘is this not allowed? Maybe I’m a freak of nature?’ Add this to my freakishly high sex drive and what am I supposed to do? (I wrote a post about my sex drive issue somewhere)
Then there’s the romance novels thing. And, like, I don’t care for the genre over all. I like some stories, fics, or whatever but it’s definitely not a fave. But my reason isn’t because I’ve been brainwashed to think stuff women like is bad. It’s because I get sick of ‘You need romance to be happy!’ I get sick of it in other genres and the romance genre is literally just. that. (Note: there was validity in their point on how society just ‘happens’ to always see stuff women like as bad or less than. But this doesn’t mean that someone not liking the genre is for that reason)
Can I get a story with a female protagonist that doesn’t somehow hinge on her being in love? I don’t care what genre it is, although I have been picky on ages (I’m in my 30s and sometimes I want to read about us)
But anyway the whole ‘romance is the one and only’ bs is everywhere. I went on an erotica binge recently and all I wanted was hot sex, just sex. I know folks do casual sex, even if I don’t, so surely there will be something with a grown ass woman going to get some. And there was…but there just HAD to be ‘so-and-so is the one, we’re gonna have babies and get married’ in every. story. I tried orgies, vampires, and other paranormal shit and there was still the obligatory falling in love. My “just sex” book search was a complete bust.
1) The fact that he took time out his busy day to actually write thoughtful short notes that he knew was going to make Lara Jean smile. Boys nowadays will just send you a text or won’t even bother.
2) He took Lara Jean to a party and made her feel pretty and good about herself. BONUS: He knew he was driving them both home so he was responsible enough to drink a nonalcoholic beverage. And he probably knew that Lara Jean doesn’t usually drink so he chose to stay sober to look after her just in case. Boys nowadays will get drunk, and just tell you to get an Uber and they certainly won’t make time for you because they’ll be too busy playing beer pong with their guy friends.
3) Once he saw that Lara Jean was upset, he acted right away anddefended her on the spot in front of the whole school. Boys nowadays don’t have the balls. They’ll tell you to just ignore it, and that it’ll eventually go away.
4) He formed a really close bond with her younger sister, Kitty. He stayed home and watched movies with them when he could’ve been out partying with his friends. Boys nowadays won’t even give your siblings a second glance.
5) He went out of his way so that he could pick them up in the mornings and give them a ride to school. Boys nowadays would rather sleep an extra 5 minutes than waste their gas to drive you to school every morning.
6) He drove all the way across town to get her FAVORITE drink. He packed snacks, and prepared a bunch of stuff all because he wanted her to sit next to him on the bus. Boys nowadays will tell you to pack all his favorite snacks.
7) When he received the letter, instead of being weirded out and attacking Lara Jean for writing it, he tried letting her down gently and in the nicest way possible. Boys nowadays would’ve shown that letter to all his friends so they all had something to laugh about.
Peter Kavinsky didn’t raise the bar for boys just because he’s cute. He raised the bar put the bar back where it’s supposed to be because unlike boys nowadays, he’s thoughtful and sweet and genuinelykind and actually goes out of his way to show you he cares about you.
Ummmm listen,
If any boys act like these “boys nowadays,” dump them. He didn’t raise the bar, he’s RIGHT at where the bar should be.
It’s a cute movie but this trend of glorifying a boy for acting like a normal, kind boyfriend has gotta stop. Standards. You’ve gotta have them; if your boys ain’t shit, don’t let them have a second date. 🤷🏽♀️
What I’m hearing is, “If you don’t love me at my sociopathic, unrelenting attempt to capture you for the sake of my own personal honor to my father and nation, leading you and your friends to your impending deaths,” then you don’t deserve me at my “Sulky Fire boi charm who is kinda oppressed, but also has no other friends because, like, have you met my sister?”
Imagine missing the entire point of a character arc in a show aimed at children this badly
Okay, but to be fair, there is no obligation to love season 1 Zuko (other than the fact that it’s a show, fave characters are fave characters, we have the benefit of hindsight and also not being the kids/characters experiencing s1 Zuko)
He’s angry, he’s aggressive, he’s part of the power-hungry, corrupt, supremacist force trying to destroy the world and oppress everyone. He’s creepy and manipulative and horrible to even the people who are on his side.
Is that all the result of his abuse and trauma and the horrible things he’s been taught throughout his entire life? Yes.
Does that mean he’s allowed to do all the horrible stuff he does? No.
The point isn’t that we should have loved Zuko all along. It’s that he grew into a person who earned and deserved the gaang’s love (and ours, because who doesn’t love zuko? seriously)
imagine not thinking tom holland is the spider-man our generation deserves when homeboy is the only man in the mcu cast who isn’t the epitome of ‘no homo’ and without hesitation stated that he would fuck chris hemsworth
