As a feminist, seeing Cate Blanchett in this sort of outfit in her late 40s brings me joy, because most movies would take her age as automatically excluding her from anything even slightly sexy.

I doubt very much that they’ll stick to myth and comics canon by making her Loki’s daughter, but I’m ready to be surprised…
“hela as loki’s mother” is a theory that’s been floating around since the teaser dropped months ago. given her general black-and-green color scheme, plus her physical similarities to loki, it really feels like they’re trying to wink-wink at some family connection. whether that’s just a nudge to mythology where she’s his kid, or if they’re going to throw it in that she’s his mom, who knows.
personally, i kind of hope she’s related to him in some way. i really do. there’s A LOT of story telling left dangling from loki’s ‘frost giant’ arc. who was his mother? why was a small jotun born? what happened to the casket? etc etc etc.
plus i just… i really want hela to drop that bomb. “You think that you’re better than me? Boy, I am your mother!”
and loki looks her dead in the eyes and says, “No. My mother was FRIGGA.” and stabs hela.
