I understand how people might like Wanda a bit more now, and that throughout the movies, she probably had more screen time.

But, Mantis is basically the good version of Wanda. They both have been used by an enemy of the heroes in the past, and both have powers relating to emotional manipulation.

Mantis can control her powers, is not vengeful and corrupted with hatred, and uses her powers for peaceful purposes, rather than causing damage. On the other hand, Wanda barely controls her powers(though she is getting better at it), and hates a man who is not actually responsible for certain deaths that have heavily affected her, even though she has had more than enough time to process her grief.

Can’t wait until Infinity War when Mantis comes up to Tony as he’s casually smiling and touches Tony’s arm and she just starts fucking sobbing and everyone is looking at Tony confused because Tony seems fine then they realize that Tony is faking his happiness a majority of the time because of the shit alot of which they themselves have put him through

But what if they get mad at him for making Mantis cry?? As much as I love some of these characters I wouldn’t put it past them.

You know everyone talking about how badly Mantis would react to touching Tony with her empathy-powers or whatever….but I was talking to @bardingbeedle and I had A Thought.

What if she just…doesn’t feel anything.

For the first time in her life, she just goes completely blank. Empty. And she’s so confused, because Tony Stark looks like a man of sadness, a man with many scars in both mind and body.

And yet. There’s such an emptiness in her as she touches Tony’s hand that it feels like… 

like she’s not alive at all.

And that’s when she realises.

Tony Stark has become so detached from the world, so disassociated from his pain- that now there’s just nothing left. He just works. And fights. And goes through the motions, because anything other than that would mean he’d start feeling and-

Mantis really doesn’t want to be touching him when he lets himself feel.
