Okoye lost T’Challa twice. Yes, I’m saying twice because she doesn’t know that he survived yet in the first gif. Look at the first time and compare it to the second. She has composure during the Warrior Falls fight but completely loses it when T’Challa turns into ash. She lost her king twice. And no one is talking about it.
Also, all she knows is Wakanda. She has no clue what the hell is going on.
T’challa dying in the warrior falls fight can be expected. She surely knew that it was possible for T’challa to lose by death. It comes with the territory.
But losing T’challa during Infinity War came left field. Both in the fact that he died and the way he died. Just poof.
There’s some speculations about Ryan making a spin-off BP movie about one of the female characters. If anyone deserves it, it’s Okoye. Don’t get me wrong I love Shuri and she’s a really cool character but I believe Okoye’s character is more complex and there are so many avenues for her story to go.
-They can have a prequel of her joining the Dora Milaje at a young age and working her way through the ranks. I’ve always been interested in knowing how she became general and what the process was (this might be explored in the comics, but it would be great to see it in film).
-Her relationship with W’Kabi can be explored and we can have insight into her complications of being a warrior, a wife, and a potential mother (as expressed in the deleted scene). That deleted scene definitely made me want more of their relationship on screen! They seem like such a power couple.
-They can also explore her relationship with T’Challa as his general and royal advisor. They can have lots of heart to heart moments and it would make their dynamic even stronger (this is also influenced by what I saw in IW and they seem to have a great bond together in that movie).
-It can also go the route of being a prequel and a sequel. Just like The Huntsman Winter’s War (sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman), it can explore Okoye’s early life, her POV during and after the events of BP, and her future status (maybe she can potentially retire from being general to have kids or train Ayo to be the next general).
-Also the action scenes would be BADASS!!!! Plus, who wouldn’t want to see more of the Dora Milaje???
As you can tell by my rant, I would love an Okoye spin-off film. Please Ryan and Marvel, make it happen!!!
Day 15 | Emotive Scene: T’Challa vs. Killmonger at Warrior Falls

This first battle moment between T’Challa and Killmonger was really intense. There’s so many different emotions going on here from watching these two fight and they carry over well from that first confrontation in the throne room when he’s brought in front of the council.
The expressions of pain and fear on Shuri and Ramonda’s faces also made it that much bigger of a contrast from his coronation – shows how much their world is starting to fall apart 😥
