I saw a thing complaining about Meraās red hair in the Aquaman trailer and I get it. I was like TF IS IT THAT BRIGHT????
But then I saw the scene of them underwater and it looked better. So Iām guessing they made it hyper red so it would still show up a pretty red for the underwater stuff. Now I donāt mind it so much.
Just imagine if the MCU had kept Sam as a mutant that could talk to birds?! He would have had all the birds of prey in Wakanda raining holy hell on them aliens Smh.
I believe this is from Ghost Stories. The series didnāt do too well in Japan, so when it was translated and dubbed in English, the VA studio was given a rough outline of the plot and were told to doĀ āwhateverā.Ā
Iām team cap, pro Steve, Bucky, Sam, etc. Iām not exactly anti tony (given the fact that I donāt really care about him to actually have a reason to not like him. I just feel like if I knew him in real life Iād punch him in the face within 5 minutes of meeting him). So I really donāt donāt get into the whole discourse (even though itās funny)
But if yāall t0ny stans could keep yāall lily white hands of my black favs (tāchalla, wakanda as a whole, even Rodney) that would be fucking fantastic
Yāall donāt give two shits about these people until you need them to either prop up your āpoor babyā or demonize them to make him look good. Fuck off and find a new way to try prop up your guy
Who the fuck is āRodneyā??? How about you fucking spell RHODEYāS name right before accusing Tony stans of not appreciating him. Cause it sounds like youāre the one who doesnāt actually appreciate him, so why donāt YOU keep his name out of your mouth? (which shouldnāt be too hard tbh since you canāt even spell it right,,,,,)
The funny thing is, his name isnāt even rhodey. Thatās a nickname lovingly given to him by his best friend tony stark. His name is Colonel James Rhodes and you need to step off. He also nicknames tony ātonesā which is adorable
How does stuff like this end up on my dash?
Black tony!stan here. (I guess I count as a stan?) Yes we exist. ^_^
Are there issues with racism in fandom? Yep.Ā There were folks who were only interested in watching theĀ Black Panther movie because Bucky was in Wakanda. There are folks who treat Sam like heās only important when tied to Steve, then there are people who act like Sam and Steveās friendship isnāt even legit and heās there just be be therapist for their white faves. There are folks who donāt post anything about Shuri thatās not a headcanon about her and Peter. And yeah, there are some Tony fans who donāt mention Rhodey unless itās something related to Tony.Ā
Fandom ignores characters of color left and right, and I wish more people would notice it and do better. I wish theyād even want to do better. But itās a little irksome (I canāt find the right word) to act like itās something that only fans of a single character do.
If you have made similar posts complaining to fans of Steve, Bucky, Peter (because how seldom do we see posts about Ned or Michelle), Strange (because people ignore Wong exists), then my bad. Excuse me for going off.
Deadpool fans: Yo, Marvel Studios, where pansexual Deadpool at?
Marvel Studios: SURPRISE! I made this adorable teen lesbian couple just for you.
Deadpool fans: Okay, I do appreciate that Marvel, but ātil you give us
adorable-teen-lesbian couple AND a canon pansexual main character yāall remain cowards.
bitch what about that movie DIDNāT radiate chaotic pansexual vibes
You meant chaotic queerbait vibes, right?
excuse me, did i stutter?
queerbaiting is dean and castiel. queerbaiting is not making multiple direct references to the fact that wade wants to fuck collosus, not even mincing words. the first movie mightāve been queerbaiting, but this it aināt.
Itās comedy. Itās treated as a joke. Mentioning an actual past male lover would count. Gay jokes donāt.
the whole movieā¦. is treated as a jokeā¦.
this isā¦.. an action movieā¦ā¦ a superhero movieā¦ā¦..
why isnāt it enough that wade, canonically pan, is portrayed the same in these movies as he is in the comics? why doesnāt that count as representation?
Itās an action film that actually does take romance more seriously than anything else. A main character only in straight relationships, never once showing interest for another man outside of a joke, isnāt proper representation. Get some standards, sis
hey hey! so uh
maybe pls stop perpetuating the idea that bi, pan and poly people need to āproveā their āgaynessā or attraction by being in a same sex relationship? itās super hurtful and harmful!
deadpoolās sexuality in his films is treated like an accepted fact of his character and existence⦠much like pan people in real life.
also his sexuality is reflected in his entire personality, worldview and behavior, he is treated as a character as a whole, and not reduced to just his sexuality, which is taken for granted as an accepted fact- rather than a plot point or worse, a selling point. his character isnāt a āpan super heroā. heās a super hero who also happens to be pan and that kind of factual acceptance and normalcy of his sexuality is the kind of representation we desperately need.
deadpool is canonically pan. itās a fact. no āqueer-baitingā involved. there was no shying away from his identity, rather it was showcased in a healthy and normal way.
also? a joke? iām sorry, how does cable literally sacrificing his family for deadpoolās life come off as a joke to you? vanessa acknowledging wadeās attraction to colossus? is that a joke? i donāt think so pal. and you taking those moments as a joke honestly says more about you than the movie, which took the emotions and circumstances seriously, even if there was a strong element of humor bc itās deadpool. itās literally deadpool and his whole shtick is being funny and irreverent and it would be completely off tone to treat certain aspects of his story differently when his own personality and character affects every area of the film and story!!
and yeah, sure, it would be nice to see him in a canonic gay couple onscreen. but heās canonically pan either way. and the fact that the studio chose to include the lesbian couple on top of that shows that they really took representation seriously. going above and beyond to make it explicit in more than one character and you know what? i really respect that.
